THE ORGANISATION

Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS) is a multicultural community care organisation caring for Victorian seniors from over 50 countries. Its mission is to improve lives through care, support and empowerment, with a vision for an equitable, just and compassionate multicultural society. Services AMCS provides include home care packages, social support for seniors, access and support services, carer support, and community engagement projects. 

With a budget of $38m, 296 paid staff members proficient in 45 languages and 100 volunteers, AMCS has experienced significant growth in service delivery.  AMCS has also undertaken major digital transformation initiatives. AMCS faces challenges such as workforce shortages and continued change and challenges to the aged care sector as the federal government implements the Support at Home reform.

Looking to the future with the recent launch of its new strategy, AMCS is on a journey to better serve ageing Victorians through growth and enabling initiatives to better integrate and improve existing services to more people in need.

THE ROLE

Based in Seddon and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager Home Care and Support will lead and manage the Support at Home Services program. This will involve navigating ongoing reform, clinical and non-clinical assessment streams, staff management and development, program compliance, innovation, and overall contribution to the organisation’s performance and service quality. The role will oversee the delivery of clinical and non-clinical services with a focus on operational management, staff development, client retention, and program growth. Additionally, the role will implement changes required as the ongoing Support at Home reform and ensure the program remains financially viable.

YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Exceptional leadership, with the ability to energise and engage teams around the purpose and vision, provide clear and consistent direction, inspire high performance, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and     continuous improvement
  • Clinical qualifications in nursing or allied health are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Aged Care or similar programs i.e. NDIS, with knowledge of compliance and quality assurance.
  •  In-depth knowledge of current Government requirements relating to Home Care Services, including compliance and funding models.
  • Expertise in managing diverse and complex client needs, including clinical care.
  • Proven leadership and staff management capabilities.
  • Strong budget management and financial acumen.
  • High-level communication, decision-making, and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and client-centred care.
  • Experience working with purpose-driven organisations will be highly regarded
