The Opportunity
Reporting to an engaged Board, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership to implement the strategic plan and foster key partnerships while inspiring organisational buy-in. You'll build a high-performing culture, ensure operational excellence across health programs, and manage the $2M budget while diversifying funding streams for long-term sustainability. As LiverWELL's public face, you'll maintain critical government partnerships and champion health equity across all LiverWELL’s work. Key responsibilities include:
Unite & Inspire
- Energise and inspire a capable team through recent leadership transitions
- Bridge internal perspectives between viral hepatitis and MASLD priorities
- Foster collaborative culture aligned with LiverWELL’s values: Respect, Inclusion, Collaboration, Impact
Strategically Transform
- Execute LiverWELL’s expansion into MASLD while maintaining our core viral hepatitis and liver health excellence
- Diversify funding beyond current 98% government dependence
- Establish clear organisational identity as national liver health leader
Build & Partner
- Strengthen relationships with government, clinical, and community stakeholders
- Represent LiverWELL as the authoritative voice on liver health policy
- Develop sustainable funding strategies for ambitious growth plans
What You'll Bring
Essential:
- Proven executive leadership in health promotion, public health, or NFP sectors
- Deep understanding of the Australian healthcare environment and government partnerships
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement including government and community agencies
- Strategic planning expertise with demonstrated financial stewardship
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to negotiate, influence, and build consensus
- Strong knowledge of health equity and preventative health strategies
- Proven experience working with Boards
Highly Valued:
- Health qualifications (nursing, medicine, pharmacy) or PhD in health sciences
- Clinical understanding of liver health, viral hepatitis, or MASLD
- National-level health promotion or advocacy experience
- Digital health or data-informed intervention experience
- Strategic fundraising and donor relations experience
