North Western Melbourne Primary Health Network (NWMPHN) is one of Australia's leading primary health networks – a system integrator, reform partner and funder of care for one of the country's most diverse and rapidly growing regions.
With a clear strategic mandate to transform primary health care and a board that takes its governance seriously, NWMPHN is seeking up to three new directors to join its board from July 2026.
The opportunity
This is a paid, skills-based board role with genuine strategic weight. NWMPHN operates across a complex environment — Commonwealth and Victorian funding frameworks, a large commissioned services portfolio, clinical governance responsibilities, and an ambitious agenda for health system reform. Directors who contribute here contribute to something that matters.
What we're looking for We welcome applications from experienced directors and emerging board talent across a range of disciplines. Priority areas for this cohort include legal and regulatory, finance and audit, digital health and cyber security, board leadership experience, and public health system knowledge – though we are building a complementary cohort, not ticking boxes.
All candidates should bring strong governance instincts, strategic capability, and genuine alignment with NWMPHN's values: equity, collaboration, respect and innovation.
The board meets six times per year.
