Manager, Youth Mental Health
This newly created position is responsible for leading a small team focused upon commissioning activities for children and young people. The team works collaboratively with other teams in the organisation and with external partners to realise strategic alignments and opportunities for more integrated and effective primary mental health services for children and young people with, or at risk of, mental illness. Two key focus areas of the position are:
- Ensuring that the needs and experiences of consumers and carers are understood and valued, and are used to drive improvements in the care delivered by commissioned services and regional organisations.
- Ensuring that vulnerable populations receive equitable care and achieve improved health outcomes.
This position will shape and manage day to day activities that will focus on building strong sectoral relationships, build workforce awareness and capability, and ensure that data is managed and utilised effectively so that commissioned services are accessible, person-centred and delivered efficiently and effectively.
To be successful in this challenging position you will be a self-starter, with drive and energy that will inspire others into action. You will have a passion for mental health reform, ideally with some experience in youth mental health service or program leadership. With tertiary qualifications in health, health services management or a related field, you’ll be collaborative and consultative yet decisive, and value transparency and accountability. Naturally, you will be a skilled communicator, adept at managing change and negotiating outcomes. In return you will be rewarded with the opportunity to showcase your skills in a sector under the spotlight, work with a highly supportive leadership team and range of skilled professionals in a dynamic workplace culture.
