Based in Bathurst NSW, the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission is an independent statutory body responsible for the supervision and regulation of the NSW greyhound racing industry. Its role is to uphold high animal welfare standards, oversee the integrity of greyhound racing, and monitor and enforce compliance with its regulations.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Commission in its start-up phase. The successful candidate will recruit and build their team, leading from the front to develop and implement the Commission’s strategic direction and culture.
This role provides an outstanding opportunity for highly capable, self-motivated professionals interested in making a significant contribution to animal health and welfare, and the integrity of the Greyhound Racing Industry.
This role reports directly to the Chief Commissioner.
About the role: CHIEF STEWARD
The Chief Steward is critical to ensure that greyhound racing events are conducted fairly under the Greyhound Racing Act 2017. The role will build and lead a team of geographically dispersed Stewards to drive change aimed at ensuring high levels of greyhound safety and the integrity of greyhound racing events.
A key part of the role will be to influencing and building trust with a diverse group of people, including industry participants. You’ll also be responsible for the establishment and implementation of the standards, systems and protocols that will ensure compliance with the Greyhound Racing Act 2017.
